Centurion Bank to raise fresh capital

The board of directors of Centurion Bank will meet on January 10, 2005 to consider a proposal to raise additional equity capital in one or more tranches.

According to a release issued to the BSE today, the funds will be  raised either by way of a domestic public issue or private placement of equity shares or an international offering (ADR/GDR/FCCBs or other convertible instruments).

An EGM will be called later to approve the proposal, the release added.
