Charminar Depositors Set To Get Rs 75 Crore

The Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) has remitted Rs 75 crore as first instalment for disbursal to the depositors of the ill-fated Charminar Urban Cooperative Bank.

The bank ran into trouble a year ago when its chairman Syed Sajjad Aga committed suicide and subsequently a scam was unearthed which involves fraudulent advances sanctioned by the management.
