Citi India announces 5 senior appointments

Citi India today announced the appointment of five executives in senior roles, including head of strategy and head of human resources (HR).

Anuratna Chadha, who previously headed Citi’s private bank in India, is the new head of strategy with additional responsibility of the microfinance business.

The private bank is now headed by Tashwinder Singh. Stephen Cronin is the new country human resources officer for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Prior to this, he was the HR head for Citi in Japan.

The bank has appointed Piyush Agrawal as risk head, Institutional Clients Group, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Agrawal, who was previously with Citi’s Global Risk Oversight organisation in New York, will take over from Jose Joseph who will be moving to New York to become the head of the technology, media and telecom team.

 

Sandip Beri will be the new legal head, while Munish Nagpal has been appointed legal head for Citigroup Global Markets India.

Citi has announced a slew of changes in its management structure since its chief executive officer (CEO) for South Asia, Mark Robinson quit in March, 12 months into the job.

Robinson has been succeeded by Pramit Jhaveri, who was previously head of Citi’s global banking in India and vice-chairman of Asia investment banking.

Last month, the bank named Rahul Soota as the new head of retail and commercial banking.
