The committees set up by the state government to curb the defaulters of co-operative banks have asked the banks to provide the list of defaulters.

The committee members would decide the further course of actions once the list of defaulters is prepared.

"We have informed all the 38 co-operative banks to furnish a list of defaulters who are not co-operating in the recovery procedure. The move to recover the outstanding would begin shortly," said Dipak Dalal, district registrar of co-operatives for Vadodara.

However, Dalal did not comment on the time-frame of the entire exercise stating that it will take some time considering the large number of defaulters in the region.
