Mangalore-headquartered Corporation Bank on Tuesday reported a 34.3 per cent jump in its net profit to Rs 256.4 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, compared to the corresponding quarter last year. The bank’s total income in the period rose 50.5 per cent to Rs 1,905.5 crore compared to the same quarter last year, while the net interest income increased by 37.30 per cent to Rs 477.98 crore.
The public sector lender’s operating profit for the December quarter soared 61.90 per cent to Rs 449.40 crore. Total business showed a growth of 27.7 per cent to Rs 1,06,831 crore.
