Indians continued to hoard cash as the nation underwent a lockdown, the data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showed.
Currency in circulation in the fortnight ended April 10 stood at Rs 49,554.30 crore. In the fortnight ended March 27, it was Rs 31,575 crore.
The currency in circulation rose to a 29-month high of Rs 54,849.15 crore in the fortnight ended March 13.
