Deutsche Bank chairman on 2-day India visit

Joseph Ackermann, chairman of Germany-based Deutsche Bank, arrived in India today on a two-day visit - his first after the bank launched retail operations in the country in October.

Coinciding with Ackermann's visit, Deutsche Bank announced the signing of Sania Mirza as ambassador to promote retail banking products and services in India.

India is the only country in Asia where Deutsche Bank has launched its
retail banking business.

Deutsche Bank has opened eight branches in Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi in the fourth quarter of CY2005.
