Kerala-based Federal Bank aims to become a dominant player in the Indian banking sector, establishing a significant presence in select states and segments, a top company official said today.
With a business size of over Rs 88,000 crore as on June this year, Federal Bank commands a leading position among private sector players in India, the bank's Managing Director and CEO Shyam Srinivasan said.
He was speaking on the opening of bank's 1,000th branch in the country at Muthoor in Thiruvalla in Kerala.
The bank has registered a profit of Rs 190.35 crore for the quarter ended June 30 and has been working on its transformation and adopting contemporary management techniques, he said.
Federal Bank has 542 branches in Kerala and 458 branches spread over the other states of India.
