Forex reserves up $1 bn to $142.54bn

Foreign exchange reserves increased $1.001 billion to $142.54 billion for the week ended April 22, 2005, according to the weekly supplement released by the RBI on Saturday.

Foreign currency assets were up $985 million to $136.596 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were steady at $4.50 billion and $5 million,  respectively.

The reserve tranche position with the IMF was up $16 million to $1.430 billion.
