Forex reserves up $2.4bn at $229bn

Foreign exchange reserves increased $2.404 billion to $228.849 billion for the week ended August 24, according to data released by the Reserve Bank today.

Foreign currency assets increased $2.402 billion to $221.505 billion.

Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $6.887 billion and $2 million, respectively.

Reserve Position in the IMF was up $2 million at $455 million.
