Forex reserves zoom $2.69bn to $135.66bn

Foreign exchange reserves zoomed $2.699 billion to $135.658 billion for the week ended February 25, 2005 when compared with the previous week, according to the weeklly supplement released by the RBI on Saturday.

Foreign currency assets increased $2.692 billion to $129.844 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $4.390 billion and $5 million, respectively. The Reserve Tranche Position (RTP) with the IMF increased $7 million to $1.419 billion.
