The Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), a regional rural bank (RRB) sponsored by the State Bank of India (SBI), is planning to disburse Rs 2,000 crore crop loans during the current financial year, as compared with Rs 900 crore last year, said its chairman T Hanumantha Rao.
“Crops loans will cover 100,000 new and tenant farmers. The bank has the biggest advance portfolio for self-help groups (SHGs) among all the RRBs in the country at Rs 1,164 crore with a credit linkage to 169,147 SHGs,” he told mediapersons here on Thursday, adding the bank had set a target to disburse Rs 1,000 crore to SHGs during the current year.
