HDFC aims to disburse Rs 56,000 crore loan in 2010-11

Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Ltd's housing loan disbursals are expected at around Rs 56,000 crore by the end of 2010-11.

This includes Rs 200 crore to be disbursed by the company in Orissa in this fiscal.

Addressing media persons here, Renu Sud Karnad, managing director, HDFC Ltd said, “Our pan-India loan disbursals will be close to Rs 56,000 crore by the end of this fiscal. Every year, we are growing at the rate of 20-22 per cent in terms of loan disbursals. In Orissa, our loan exposure will reach Rs 200 crore this year. We have already sanctioned housing loans worth Rs 1200 crore in Orissa ever since the beginning of our operations in the state in 1986.”

 

Till date, HDFC claimed to have sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs 330 lakh crore and disbursed Rs 240 lakh crore.

The company has funded close to 35 lakh homes across the country including 16000 homes in Orissa, said Karnad.

Asked on the loan recovery position, she said, “Our NPA (Non-Performing Assets) stands at only 0.79 per cent. We have been hugely successful in recovering loans.”

HDFC today showcased a 'Property Fair' in the city, its first in Orissa. The three-day property fair being organized from January 7-9, is showcasing 55 projects of 35 leading real estate developers to enable the home seekers to choose the right home in the cities of Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack.

Commenting on the property exhibition, Karnad said, “This is the first time that we are hosting a property show of this magnitude in Bhubaneswar and we are happy that all the reputed developers of this region are participating in it. This exhibition is an attempt to provide home seekers all the services required for property purchase under one roof so that they can come with their family, choose a home and tie up the funds for purchase of the homes.”
