Hdfc Bank Clocks 31% Rise In Third-Quarter Bottomline

HDFC Bank has reported a 31.05 per cent increase in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2002 to Rs 98.88 crore against Rs 75.45 in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Net profit for the nine months ended December 31 has also increased 31.01 per cent to Rs 270.98 crore from Rs 206.80 crore in the corresponding period previous year.

Interest income has increased by 14.8 per cent to Rs 504.86 crore from Rs 439.56 crore for the quarter, while other income rose 65.4 per cent to Rs 141.42 crore from Rs 85.51 crore during the same period.

 

The other income of the bank included fees and commissions of Rs 68.2 crore, profit on sale of investments of Rs.47.1 crore and foreign exchange and derivatives revenues of Rs 23 crore. The private bank
