The HDFC Bank will open 20 new branches in Chhattisgarh to take its total network to 70 branches in the state.
“The new branches will be opened in the first quarter of the fiscal 2014-15,” Navin Puri, Branch Banking Country Head of the bank said here Friday. Earlier, the bank launched the 12 rural branches in Chhattisgarh, taking its total network to 50 branches in the state.
He added that the bank had been expanding its branch network and would open 250 to 400 branches across the country in the financial year 2014-15.

With the opening of new branches, the bank now had 70% of its network dedicated to semi-urban and rural areas of Chhattisgarh, Puri said. At a National level, the bank has 53% of its branches in the semi-urban and rural areas.
The bank has consistently expanded its branch network in the state in the past few years with it being the first to take formal banking experience to a number of villages, Puri added. The expanded 50 branches would enable people to get full range of banking solutions in the deeper part of the state.
The Branch Banking Head of the HDFC, Amit Kumar said that the new 6 days week branches would enable customers to undertake day-to-day transactions as also experience the full breadth and depth of Bank offering.
