Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) today posted a 24.27 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 663.94 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.
The financial major had a net profit of Rs 534.23 cr in the September quarter last fiscal, HDFC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The total income has increased 8.76 per cent to Rs 2,850.23 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 2,620.59 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.
On half-yearly basis, the bank has recorded 22.60 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 1,228.86 crore as against Rs 1,002.34 crore in the year-ago period.
The HDFC stocks ended with a gain of 2.4 per cent at Rs 2,758 on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
