 Total income fell 15.79 per cent to Rs 1,743 crore (Rs 2,070 crore). Income from operations fell by 15.4 per cent to Rs 1,720 crore (Rs 2,035 crore) while other income fell 34.28 per cent to Rs 23 crore (Rs 35 crore).

 Total expenditure was down 18.93 per cent at Rs 1,267 crore (Rs 1,563 crore). Net profit for the six months rose 15.78 per cent to Rs 176 crore (Rs 152 crore in H1, 2003).
