Even as the Government of India for the first time swapped the top executives of two public sector banks -- Indian bank and IDBI Bank Ltd -- employees of the former asserted that the government could have looked at other traditional options if it had to appoint a new head for IDBI Bank. They said the current decision may not serve the purpose it has been intended for.
