Karnataka Bank part-time chief

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the re-appointment of Ananthakrishna as part-time chairman of Mangalore-based private sector lender Karnataka Bank for a further period of three years, as proposed by the bank’s board of directors. He had assumed the office as the non-executive part-time chairman on July 13, 2009, for the first term of three years. Ananthakrishna had earlier served as full-time chairman of the bank for a record period of nine years. During this period, he had focused on automation of the bank.
