Malaysia has a lady governor at its central bank. Thailand has a lady deputy governor. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), too, has now got its first lady deputy governor.
RBI Executive Director K J Udeshi was today appointed as a deputy governor. A government of India notification said she would hold charge as deputy governor till October 12, 2005, when she attained the age of 62, or till further orders.
