Lic Pares Outstanding Claims

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) settled 95,34,000 claims in 2002-03, bringing down outstanding claims to an all-time low of 0.22 per cent. This is even as LIC reported a 5.54 per cent growth in the number policies to 2.45 crore.

LIC chairman, S B Mathur, at the recently-concluded annual three-day conference of divisional managers and top executives, commended the performance of the corporation both in number of sales and claim settlement.
