The local division of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India here claims to have got the first position in the country among 100 LIC divisions by achieving its target of First Premium Income (FPI) and growth. |
"In 2005-06 the Shimla LIC division recorded a growth of around 117 per cent over the previous year with FPI of Rs 265.91 crore," said LIC Senior Divisional Manager KM Kemmu. |
"A total of 231,422 policies were sold during the year. The Future Plus plan sold 39,445 policies and brought a record premium of Rs 186 crore," said Kemmu. |
"In fact we achieved the set target for the year within seven months-in October last year," he claimed. |
"Our performance has been even better this year as 47,373 policies with an FPI of Rs 154.37 crore have been sold in the first quarter which is much higher than last year during the same period," he said. |
