Sentiment: Flat
  • Gilt prices ended flat, with the long-term papers mostly in demand.

  • Subscriptions at the one-day repo auction stood at Rs 28,505 crore.
  • Call money rates ended little changed at 4.25-4.50 percent, with thin demand in the first week of banks' reporting cycle.

Sentiment: Bullish
  • The rupee ended higher at 45.5550/5600 per dollar on greenback supplies from foreign institutional investors.
  • Premiums on forward dollars went up. The annualised premium on one-month dollar ended 0.39 per cent, while that on six-month dollar closed at 0.22 per cent.
Outlook
The rupee may hover around 45.60 per dollar on Wednesday
