Sentiment: Bullish

  • Prices of long tenor gilts went up by 15-20 paise on the back of fresh buying demand.
  • The 10-year benchmark 9.81 per cent 2013 closed at 5.54 per cent.
  • Call rates were around 5 per cent with demand coming from players for reporting Friday, while repo subscription was Rs 19,860 crore.
  • Corporate bonds saw mixed trading with yields going up with good supply of papers.

  • The rupee closed lower at 46.23 on aggressive intervention on the part of the RBI.
  • The 1-month forward premium closed at 3.48 per cent, while the six and one-year premiums ended ranged at 2.08 per cent and 2.05 per cent.

    The rupee is expected to open on Monday at 46.02-03 to a dollar.
