Sentiment: Bullish
  • Trading volumes in the government securities market touched Rs 6,000 crore on abundant liquidity.
  • Prices of long-term securities went up by 15-20 paise and those of medium-term papers grew by 10-15 paise.
  • The yield on the ten-year benchmark paper closed at 5.21 per cent compared with 5.24 per cent on Tuesday.
  • Call money rates ended at 4.40-4.50 per cent.
  • Repo subscriptions stood at Rs 50,765 crore.
 
Forex market
 
Sentiment: Bullish
  • The rupee opened and closed unchanged at 45. 23/2350 per dollar after touching a low of 45.22.
  • Forward premiums ended flat. Annualised premiums on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 0.37 per cent and 0.46 per cent, respectively.
 
Outlook
The rupee is expected to open between 45.22 and 45.24 against the dollar on Thursday.
