Nabard sanctions Rs 112 crore for rural projects in Himachal Pradesh

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) on Monday sanctioned over Rs 112 crore to the Himachal Pradesh government for the creation of rural infrastructure, taking the aggregate sanction during the current financial year to Rs 403 crore.

According to Nabard Chief General Manager A D Ratnoo, the latest amount is for the building of one major rural water supply project, 21 minor irrigation projects and 32 roads and bridge projects.

The major rural water supply project in Mandi district for the source level augmentation of water supply to the Baira, Bhadrota Suranga and Hatli areas.

The minor irrigation projects consist of rain water, flow irrigation, lift irrigation and a deep tube well project in Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts of the state.

 

Of the 32 road and bridge projects sanctioned, 22 are road projects in five districts while 10 are bridge projects in four districts.

With the above sanctions, Nabard has so far sanctioned Rs 3,094 crore under all tranches of the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund to the hill state of which over Rs 1,908 crore has already been disbursed.
