National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 97.38 crore to the Government of Gujarat under Rural Infrastructure Fund (RIDF-XVII).
This loan assistance is sanctioned for the implementation of the second phase of Panam High Level Canal Project in Panchmahal district.
On completion of the project, the irrigation facility would be able to provide around 18,000 ha. of water to 75 water-scarce villages of Godhra, Shakera and Lunawada Talukas.
Besides, it would recharge the ground water, solve the drinking water problems and generate additional recurring and non-recurring employment.
With this sanction, the total RIDF loan assistance under RIDF from NABARD to the Government of Gujarat aggregates to Rs 9574.43.05 crores.
Out of this amount, an amount of Rs 7288.04 crores has already been utilised by the Government of Gujarat till date.
