Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, a key outside supporter of NDA government, today assured the insurance industry he will persuade the Centre to desist from its reported move to transfer the revenues of the insurance regulator to the finance ministry.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today expressed concern about the recent government directive that the fund accruing in the kitty of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda) by way of annual fee among others be transferred to the consolidated fund of India under the ministry of finance.
