 Gross NPAs as a percentage of gross advances also fell to 28.8 per cent against 30.2 per cent.  The accumulated losses of these entities rose to Rs 2,320 crore against Rs 2,276 crore in the preceding year. Tier I capital of UCBs stood at Rs 297 crore against minus Rs 10 crore while the Tier II capital of these banks increased to Rs 529 crore against Rs 434 crore, said the report.  In 2003-04, licence applications of two district central cooperative banks (DCCBs) were rejected by the Reserve Bank in view of their precarious financial position.  Besides, show cause notices were issued to 3 DCCBs as to why their licence applications should not be rejected. As on June 30, 2004, seven DCCBs were placed under the Reserve Bank
