Chanda Kochhar, deputy managing director of ICICI Bank, today said that there is no issue with liquidity, and corporates are also drawing from their cash accruals for investment needs.

"I don't think there is any issue with liquidity. I think there is liquidity in the market. Yes, there is accompanying growing demand. I think the system has enough liquidity to meet the demand," Kochhar said.

Kochhar also pointed out that a lot of corporates are investing from their internal cash accruals. "I think the Indian corporate sector has built a healthy set of cash accruals," she said.

Asked if she saw interest rates hardening, Kochhar said how they move cannot be forecast, and added that movements depend on global factors. "Interest rate movements depend on the impact of oil price rise, its impact on inflation, how global rates are moving and how the rupee moves as a consequence of that," Kochhar said.
