Andhra Bank chairman A Ramakrishnan has said that the bank had no plans to outsource work in spite of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) suggestion in this regard. |
"However, the bank might consider the suggestion if outsourcing helps in increasing its revenues without damaging the interest of the existing workforce," Ramakrishnan said. |
The RBI had recently suggested that nationalised banks should outsource part of their work for better customer care in view of the changing scenario in global markets. |
He said the bank had committed and sufficient staff to meet any challenge in the interest of the organisation. "Yet, the bank is planning to recruit more people to reduce work pressure." |
Speaking to mediapersons here, Ramakrishnan said the bank had sought RBI's permission for introduction of international business online. Andhra Bank was the first among the nationalised banks to start international branches. |
He said that the mobile ATM service launched in Hyderabad would be introduced in Visakhapatnam and Mumbai also. |
One more mobile ATM would be launched in Hyderabad soon. The bank earned a profit of Rs 160 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year. |
