State-run Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is likely to miss loan disbursement target of Rs 19,300 crore in the current fiscal as it has coughed only Rs 13,162 crore so far.
"PFC has disbursed Rs 13,162 crore so far. The company is most likely to miss the loan disbursement target of Rs 19,300 crore during this financial year," sources said.
"The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that the company has not even touched loan disbursement mark of Rs 16,211 crore achieved in the last financial year," they said.
"The company needs to disburse Rs 3,049 crore to meet the loan disbursements level achieved in 2007-08 with barely two months left for the closure of this financial year," they added.
PFC had set an ambitious target of ramping up the loan disbursements growth to almost 19 per cent during this fiscal compared to 15 per cent in 2007-08.
During 2006-07, PFC had disbursed loans of Rs 14,055 crore. The company had performed well over the last five years. Its loan disbursements had grown from Rs 9,405 crore in 2004-05 to Rs 16,211 crore in 2007-08.
