Punjab National Bank (PNB) is all set to open specialised branches for advancing its customer base across the Indo-Gangetic plain.
Under the proposed plan, the bank’s top performing circle at Uttar Pradesh industrial capital, Kanpur, has recently launched two retail asset branches near the city, in the areas where significant retail activity has been identified. The bank already runs SME and agriculture focused specialised branches across the state.
Kanpur circle DGM, Jasbir Singh Jass said these branches functioned as the centralised processing units in respect of all retail loans in the respective regions. However, identification of the customer, processing of application and post-dated cheque management were done through outsourcing to enable expeditious processing and quality service.
“Kanpur circle has emerged among the top ten performers of the bank in terms of profitability, customer satisfaction, Non Performing Assets etc,” he said.
