PNB targets Rs 10,000 cr biz in Orissa by March 2012

Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India's leading public sector banks, has set an ambitious total business target of Rs 10,000 crore from its operations in the Orissa circle by March 2012.

The bank which has achieved a total business of Rs 4600 crore in the state by the end of December 2010, expects to achieve the target through ramping up its branch network.

"PNB is targeting a total business of Rs 10,000 crore in Orissa by March 2012. To achieve this target, we will scale up our branch network to 100 from 71 at present by the end of calendar year 2011.

 

The bank will also have 100 ATMs in the state by the end of 2011”, K R Kamath, chairman and managing director, PNB told media persons here.

On pan-India basis PNB’s business has reached Rs 5.10 lakh crore by the end of December 2010, marking a growth of 26.2 per cent over Rs 4.04 lakh crore which the bank achieved by the end of December 2009.
