The government has appointed Rakesh Sethi as the third executive director of Union Bank of India. Sethi comes from Bank of India where he was a general manager.
The government has decided that large public sector banks (having total business of Rs 3 lakh crore) will have three EDs. Lenders like Punjab National bank and Bank of Baroda have three EDs.
The government has also appointed Trishna Guha as the second executive director of Dena Bank. Guha, who was a general manager in Allahabad Bank, started her career with State Bank of India in 1987 and joined the Kolkata-based lender in 1989.
Banks that have crossed total business of Rs 1 lakh crore are eligible for two executive directors.
