Punjab bank to open 2 more branches

Stating that the Jalandhar Central Cooperative Bank would open two more branches, Managing Director Anil Dutta today said very soon the bank would fill up 135 vacancies at lower ranks.
 
"The board of directors has passed a resolution to open two more branches of the bank in the Cantonment and Urban Estate area and to recruit 135 persons," Dutta told reporters here today adding that permission on the resolutions by appropriate authorities would come soon.
 
Apart from opening two more branches, the Board has decided to computerise all 72 branches of the bank in the district and process for the same would be initiated soon, he added.
 
About the credit facilities in the bank, Dutta claimed that over Rs 4.82 crore has already been distributed as loan and the bank has made a policy to conduct loan fairs in the district not only to target rural population but urban too.
 
He said that tomorrow a special loan fair would be organised at the Bank's branch at Basti Danishmanda to disburse the loan amount of Rs 4.64 crore among 868 customers.
