RBI gives Stockinvest the burial

 Stockinvests were instruments to enable investor to apply for public offers. The instrument was in the nature of a tradeable bank deposit, which allowed the investor to earn interest on the application money even during the long-drawn IPO process of the past.

 According to the RBI, the use of Stockinvest as a mode of payment for applications had declined substantially in the recent past.
