For the first time in its 79-year history, RBI is set to laterally recruit specialists in Grade F, that is, chief general managers. For one vacancy in its economic policy and research department, 58 candidates have applied, of which 12 were shortlisted for interview, which was conducted on Monday.
Earlier there was lateral recruitment but only on contract basis or for a particular project and was never in F grade, which is the highest promotional grade in RBI. This is the first time a candidate who is laterally recruited will have the opportunity to get promotion.
