RBI panel on monetary policy holds first meet

The technical advisory panel on monetary policy of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today discussed the macroeconomic developments in the context of the forthcoming quarterly review of annual policy scheduled on July 26.

The first meeting of the panel was chaired by Governor Y V Reddy, a central bank release said today.

The panel consists of four external members - D M Nachane of Indira Gandhi Institute for Development & Research, S S Tarapore, former deputy governor of RBI, R H Patil, chairman of Clearing Corporation of India and Shankar Acharya, honorary professor of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER).
