RBI to put into circulation banknotes with new features

New features to aid visually impaired in easy identification of banknotes part from securing them against counterfeiting

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Tuesday that they would shortly put into circulation banknotes in the denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 with three new features namely ascending size of numerals in the number panels, bleed lines and enlarged identification mark.

RBI had recently put into circulation Rs 500 banknotes with numerals in ascending size in number panels but without bleed lines and enlarged identification mark. It has now added two more features to aid visually impaired in easy identification of banknotes part from securing them against counterfeiting.
