The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) today announced the appointment of Prateek Pant as Head of Wealth Solutions at its private banking business in India.
Pant will be based in Mumbai, overseeing a team of staff comprising investment strategists, investment advisors and product managers.
He will be responsible for deepening and broadening the bank's investment services and product suite, a press release issued here stated.
Pant will report to Shiv Gupta, Head of RBS' private bank in India.
Pant comes to RBS with over 14 years of experience in financial services. He was previously Head of Retail Advisory at Franklin Templeton Investments, India.
"Prateek's arrival will strengthen our investment team in India. His appointment is another significant step forward for the private banking business as we continue to build on our holistic wealth management offering in India. His depth of experience in product origination, management and distribution will help drive the development of a delivery platform for products and services which is customised to the profile and requirements of our clients," Gupta said.
Pant's appointment builds on the launch of the bank's new investment proposition in late-2009. The bank launched a new, enhanced suite of investment services late last year tailored specifically to the needs of high net worth individuals in India.
This includes the introduction of an Active Advisory Service with dedicated investment advisors and an investment framework catering to a combination of fundamental and momentum driven approaches.
"We will continue to strengthen the product and functional core of the business as we grow our staff base and assets under management (AUM) over the next 4-5-years," Gupta said.
