Outlook:
The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 46.15-19 to a dollar.
 
Sentiment: Dull
 
  • The spot rupee opened at 46.14 and closed at a low of 46.16 after reaching an intraday high of 46.12 and low of 46.18 to a dollar.

  • The annualised premia on six month and one year dollars closed at 1.10 per cent and 1.20 per cent respectively.

    Sentiment: Dull
  • Prices of government securities remained flat throughout the day, moving up by 5 paise in the beginning and then coming down in the same way later.

  • The yield on the ten year paper closed at 8. 16 per cent.
  • There were very few securities traded, mainly 9.39 per cent 2011 and 7.37 per cent 2014.

  • Call rate was comfortable around 5.8/5.9 per cent with the RBI absorbing around RS 60,000 crore from the market.

  • The RBI has cut down the size of the auction to be held next week from RS 10,000 crore to RS 7000 crore.
