The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 43.53/56 to a dollar on Monday.

  • The spot rupee opened at 43.54, but backed by good supplies, closed at 43.5250 to a dollar.
  • Six-month and on-year forward premiums closed at 1.32 per cent and 1.24 per cent, respectively.

    Sentiment: Bullish
  • Heavy profit booking for the second consecutive day pulled down gilt prices.
  • While prices of long and medium-tenure gilts fell by 20-30 paise, short-tenure prices slid by 10-15 paise.
  • The benchmark 10-year 7.38 per cent 2015 closed at 6.85 per cent against a close of 6.81 per cent on Thursday.
  • Following reporting Friday, call rates touched a high of 5.10 per cent, while reverse repo bids fell to Rs 13, 620 crore.
