Sentiment was choppy in the forex market today. The spot rupee opened at 43.68 per dollar, and moved up to 43.62 following forex flows. Buying by PSU banks, however, saw the rupee close on a weak note at 43.7450 per dollar as against the previous close of 43.70 per dollar. Sentiment continued to be bullish in the gilts market today, but prices moved in a narrow band of 10-15 paise. The 10-year, 7.38% 2,015 bond closed at an yield of 6.52%. Call rates were steady at 4.70-4.80%, and reverse repo bids totalled Rs 14,000 crore. |
