Outlook: The spot rupee is likely to open in the range of 43.75-78 per dollar on Thursday.
 
Sentiment: Bearish
 
  • The spot rupee had a flat run, closing at 43.75/77 to a dollar after opening at 43.7450/75.
  • The six month and one year dollar premiums too ended flat, at 1.73 per cent and 1.49 per cent, respectively.
 
Money market
 
Sentiment: Bullish
 
  • Government securities prices rallied following the moderation in the yields on US bonds.
  • Prices of long-term papers went up by almost a rupee while the short- and medium-term papers witnessed a price rise of 50-70 paise.
  • The ten-year benchmark 7.38 per cent 2015 closed at 7.04 per cent.
  • Call rates ruled at 4.75/8 per cent, while the reverse repo bids were at around Rs 31,000 crore.
