Reddy moots joint policy for banks and states

 In its first visit to the city today after resuming the office of the RBI governor, Reddy met the state chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.

 The chief minister said the state needed assistance from the banking sector for generation of self employment. He informed the governor about the progress the state made in agriculture, information technology and health care.

 Reddy said the need to provide easy credit for generation of self employment was a long standing issue which was debated a lot.
