Rs 10,000 Crore Recap Bonds For Lic

After banks and some of the troubled financial institutions, it could be the turn of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to get recapitalisation funds from the government.

According to sources in the know of developments, the Centre may pump Rs 10,000 crore worth of recap bonds into LIC to help the state-run insurer achieve the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA)-stipulated solvency margin norms.
