The rupee continued to trade weak in afternoon trade on dollar demand from importers ahead of the US debt payment deadline on October 17.

At 12:40 pm, the rupee was quoting Rs 62.04 a dollar compared to its previous close of Rs 61.94 per dollar.

According to currency dealers some custodian flows helped the rupee to recover marginally from morning levels.

The broad trading range for the rupee is seen at Rs 61.50 to Rs 62.50 for the rest of the day, said currency dealers.
