The rupee is expected to open between 46.32 and 46.35 against the greenback on Thursday.

  • The rupee opened at 46.34/35 per dollar and ended marginally higher at 46.32/33.
  • Premiums on forward dollars edged up. Annualised premiums on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 2.40 per cent and 1.96 per cent respectively.

    Sentiment: Bearish
  • Government securities prices slipped as investors refrained from buying ahead of tomorrow's auctions and inflation data due on Friday.
  • Prices of long-term securities barely budged, while those of medium- and short-term gilts declined by 20 paise and 10 paise respectively.
  • The yield on the ten-year benchmark paper, 7.37 per cent 2014, closed higher at 5.94 per cent, compared with 5.91 per cent on Tuesday.
  • Call money rates ended at 4.30-4.35 per cent.
