Rupee up 32 paise to 55.10/dollar

Dollar selling by exporters and higher opening in equity market supported the rupee

The rupee today appreciated by 32 paise to 55.10 against the US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange, as the American unit weakened against euro overseas.

Forex dealers said dollar selling by exporters and a higher opening in the equity market also supported the rupee.

The rupee had lost 35 paise to close at 55.42 against the US dollar yesterday.

Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark index Sensex recovered by 98.96 points, or 0.56%, to 17,699.52 in early trade today.
